Marieta Jean "Jeanie" Fulcher (Crandall) passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on 05 October 2025, surrounded by family, and leaving behind a legacy of faith, resilience, grace, and love. Born in Tacoma, Washington on 03 January 1943 to Toreva and Jim Crandall, Jeanie's life was defined by courage, compassion, and her deep Christian faith.
Jeanie grew up in Boise, Idaho, where she faced and overcame the challenges of childhood polio with remarkable strength and optimism. Her perseverance and radiant spirit made her a national inspiration when she was selected as the March of Dimes National Poster Child, representing hope and resilience for children living with polio across America.
She graduated from Pasadena College High School in California, where her warmth, intelligence, and beautiful singing voice shone. During this time, she met the love of her life, Marvin ("Marv") Fulcher, beginning a lifelong partnership grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together they built a beautiful life spanning Idaho, California, Colorado, Louisiana, and later New Zealand. Married for over 63 years, Jeanie and Marv shared an enduring bond filled with adventure, faith, and family.
A talented singer and lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, Jeanie brought joy to others through music and service. She was known for her elegance, warmth, and impeccable sense of style, as well as her gift for hospitality - her home was always welcoming, beautifully kept, and full of laughter.
Despite lifelong health challenges, Jeanie radiated positivity and grace. Her faith in God guided her through every season of life, including the heartbreaking loss of her infant twin son, Shawn. She poured her heart into raising her two children, remaining twin daughter Sheli, and son Trent, who were her pride and joy. In her final days, Jeanie displayed that same strength and love, holding on just long enough for Trent to travel all the way from his home in New Zealand to say goodbye.
Jeanie's greatest blessings were her family, including her beloved husband Marv, daughter Sheli Fulcher Koontz (Mark Koontz), son Trent Fulcher (Cristin Jamieson), and grandchildren Aiden Koontz, Babette Fulcher, Francesca Fulcher, and Genevieve Fulcher. She cherished every moment with them, whether at the family cabin in McCall, Idaho, on trips abroad, or around the table sharing stories and laughter.
A woman of strength, beauty, and deep faith, Jeanie touched countless lives with her kindness and encouragement. Her radiant smile, sincere interest in others, and steadfast love for God will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
