Our much loved and caring mother and grandmother passed away resting comfortably and peacefully on June 3, 2025. She was born on January 16, 1930, in the rural town of Zenda, Wisconsin to Walter and Eva Krabbe. She grew up on a farm with her 6 siblings, two brothers and 4 sisters during the 1930's great depression. The early years were filled with struggles and deprivations. Jeanette attended a local grade school in Zenda and graduated with honors in 1947 from High School in nearby Lake Geneva. She was then accepted into the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing located in Janesville, WI and graduated in 1950.
Her Nursing career began at Pember Nuzum Clinic which later became Janesville Riverview Clinic. She worked over 40 years before retiring in 1994. She met her future husband Russ Berger in Janesville, WI and was married on November 22, 1952. She was an avid cook, enjoyed knitting, needle-pointing and keeping a clean home. After retirement she took up golf. She and Russ traveled around the country visiting friends and twice to Europe. She moved to Boise in 2000 to be near her family and grandkids.
