Jay D Hollinger passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 3, 2023. A huge thank you to Idaho Home Health and Hospice for all their help and care during this difficult time.
Jay was born in Rupert, Idaho on June 21, 1940, to Alfred and Maybelle Hollinger, the youngest of their four children.
Jay spent most of his childhood in Inkom, Idaho graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1958. Jay married LaRae on August 22, 1959 (div 1990). Jay then moved to Pocatello, Idaho and attended Idaho State University. After college, Jay worked as a police officer for the city of Chubbuck, Idaho for seven years. In 1968 Jay had the opportunity to accept a position with Western Airlines. Jay worked for Western Airlines until they were acquired by Delta Airlines.
He continues to work for Delta until his retirement in 2002. Jay married Carol on October 30, 1993. After retirement Jay spent most of his time taking fishing trips, going hunting, camping, travel and spending time with family. He and Carol spent much time on the 7 acres they purchased in Boise County where they built their forever home. He resided here for over 30 years.
Jay had a great love for God, family and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
Jay is survived by his wife Carol Hollinger, 3 children, 4 step-children, 2 son-in-law’s, 1 daughter-in-law, 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren as well as multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jay is preceded in death by his infant daughter Dena Hollinger.
A memorial service will be held, 1:00 pm, Monday, June 26, 2023 at Capital Church, 2760 E. Fairview Ave., Meridian.
