Janice M. Girard
Janice, 88, of Cascade, passed Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024 at home.
Memorial/Wake to be determined in Spring of 2025.
Janice is survived by her children Marc, Lorrie, and Gerry, nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George of 58 years and their son Bill.
After several heart attacks in 2010 it slowed her down just a little bit. She would still resist asking for help with the maintenance of their mountain home as she would “mow her weeds” with the riding mower.
A passion she had was decorating the side of the garage with old and unique items, some that she did not even know what they were.
Janice was born Nov. 5, 1936, at Culdesac, Idaho, a daughter of Hazel and William Tolliver. She attended school and business school in Boise, Idaho.
She married George D. Girard in Boise Idaho. Their family lived in Mountain Home, Idaho and Abilene, Texas before settling back in Boise, Idaho.
Janice was employed as a homemaker, a secretary in a law office, an agent for Watkins, Avon Representative, and a cook at Garfield Elementary School.
Janice loved all varieties of flowers but favored the iris. She derived pleasure from her small garden but often lost it to the local wildlife, voles, and elk.
She enjoyed square and round dancing, getting out in the mountains on the 4-wheeler and weekly visits with her friends in Cascade.
Janice, wife, friend mom, grandmother, aunt, sister, and great grandma, you are loved and will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
