Janice K. (Jan) Aldinger

Janice (Jan) Aldinger, 76, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024, in Boise, Idaho. She was strong until the end and was lovingly surrounded by family in the days preceding.

Jan was born in Denver, Colorado to Donald and Betty Bailey on February 28, 1948. An only child, she grew up in North Denver and graduated from North High. In college, she met Richard, and they were married in 1968. Their life took them across multiple states and jobs, with many of those years spent raising their family in Minot and Garrison, North Dakota.

In 1999, they moved to Boise, Idaho where they settled with their family for the last 25 years.

For much of her life, Jan worked in the family businesses, and then spent several years working for an insurance company before retiring. Even in retirement, she and Richard kept busy with their online book business.

Richard and Jan were two peas in a pod and did everything together. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage, where she was always supportive of his crazy whims and silly jokes. If you ask Richard, he says that most people have hobbies, but their hobby was spending time together. They truly were the best of friends.

Jan looked forward to spending time with her family and enjoyed every party and family get together with her loud, busy bunch of kids and grandkids. She stayed involved in everyone’s lives, regularly reaching out to check in. She was the best listener and was always interested in hearing about every activity, accomplishment, or funny story from the day.

When she wasn’t spending time with her kids or grandkids, Jan enjoyed researching genealogy, watching TV (especially the Denver Broncos!), eating out with her husband, and playing with her pets.

She persevered through many health issues over the years and never complained. Her doctors and clinic staff had come to know and love her and always enjoyed her visits.

Jan is survived by her husband, Richard, their five kids Eric, Kelly, Tori (Joaquin), Erin (Fred), and Sean; nine wonderful grandkids Justin (34) (Megan), Taryn (25) (Joshua), Ben (22), Tanner (19), Daniel (18), Avery (13), Cruz (12), Freddie (4), and Finn (1); her sister-in-law Kimberly (Robert), and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
