Janet LaNette Linder

January 18, 1957 — February 18, 2026

Nampa

Janet LaNette Linder, 69 years old, died peacefully on February 18, 2026 at her home in Nampa, Idaho in the presence of her family and hospice.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27, at 11 am at the Meridian United Methodist Church of the Warm Heart at 240 E Idaho Avenue in Meridian in the sanctuary with Pastor Mike Benischek presiding.  Following the service, friends and family are invited to lunch and fellowship in the Family Living Center adjacent to the church.

Janet was born on January, 18, 1957 in Moscow, Idaho, to parents Glen and Betty Linder.  She had two sisters, Jeanne and Jerri.  Janet's early years were spent in Meridian until she and family moved to Spokane, Washington where she attended school through the eighth grade.  In the ninth grade, she moved to Creston, Washington, and graduated from Creston High School in 1975.  Later that summer on August 23rd, Janet Married Alan Neihouse.  After high school, she continued her education, attending college and receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  She later graduated from Walla Walla College with a Master's Degree in Social work.

Janet's professional career spanned a variety of jobs.  While she lived in Wilbur, Washington, she worked as a paralegal.  Several years later, she and her mom Betty opened a fabric store in Grand Coulee, Washington called "Sew and Sew Fabrics."  After Janet and husband Alan moved to Coeur d'Alene, she worked as a Financial Aid Advisor at North Idaho College for nine years.  Janet served in several different counseling positions for the Idaho Department of Corrections.  Her warm heart and understanding of the challenges of incarceration made her a valuable asset for inmates.  She retired in 2022 after a 17 year career with Idaho Department of Corrections.

One of Janet's passions was to be a mother.  She became a foster parent to Michael Fisk Linder, who she cherished, and eventually was able to adopt as her only son.  Being Mike's mother, giving him her love and care, was the most important thing in her life.

Janet is survived by her son, Michael Fisk Linder, mother Betty Botts, sisters and husbands Jeanne and Ed DeBord; Jerri and Brian Madison.  Stepmother Karen Linder, stepsisters Lisa and David Miller and Jodi Hiner.  Also survived by stepbrother Allan (Linda) Botts, Susan (Botts) Trzcinski and Nancy (Botts) Barger, and her nephews and nieces; Taylor and Amanda DeBord, Levi DeBord, Nathan and Jackie DeBord, Nicole and Mitch Curtaccio, Brilee and William Wardell, and multiple step nieces and nephews.

Janet is preceded in death by her father, Glen Linder, and stepfather, Kenneth Botts.  Janet fought her battle with cancer and Parkinson's Disease with such grace and dignity.  The family thanks the staff at St. Luke's Medical Center, St. Luke's Oncology Department, and St. Luke's Hospice staff for their supportive, compassionate care.  Also, thanks to Bowman Funeral Home staff for their gentle support.
