Jane Kathleen (Bradbury) Thompson, 71, of Havre, Montana, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, after courageously battling cancer for seven years, surrounded by the love of the family and friends who meant everything to her.
Born on May 9, 1955, and raised in Montana, Jane carried the spirit and beauty of Montana with her throughout her life. Though she and her husband, David, later made their home in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho to be close to their grandchildren as they grew up, Montana always remained home in her heart. The wide skies, quiet sunrises, glowing sunsets, and deep sense of belonging found there stayed with her always.
A proud member of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Jane carried a deep spiritual connection to the world around her. Though she was spiritual rather than devoted to organized religion, her faith was reflected daily in the way she treated others: with compassion, humility, grace and an open heart.
A homemaker and farmer, she poured her heart into creating a home filled with warmth, comfort and care. Whether through sewing, crafts, lending a helping hand, or simply listening when someone needed her, Jane gave freely of her time and talents. She tried always to think of others before herself, quietly placing the needs of family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers ahead of her own. Her selfless spirit touched countless lives and left everlasting threads of love woven through her family and communities.
Above all, Jane treasured her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years and lifelong companion, David; daughter, Erica Buck, and son-in-law, Kyle Buck; her beloved grandchildren, Isaac (Abbie) Buck, Ian Buck and Kirsten Buck; and her siblings, Dorothy Bradbury and Bill (Cathie) Bradbury and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Catherine Bradbury, sister, Gail Frisch and her granddaughters, Kelsey Jean Buck and Lauren Kathleen Buck, whose memories she carried deeply in her heart.
Jane especially cherished the simple beauty of life: watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee, admiring Montana sunsets painted across the sky, creating with her hands, and sharing everyday moments with David, her best friend through every season of life. Their love was steady and enduring; a quiet partnership built on devotion and deep friendship. She found her greatest joy in time spent together, from quiet conversations to shared laughter and games around the table.
Jane’s legacy is one of generosity, creativity, quiet strength, and unconditional love. She showed those around her that a meaningful life is not measured by recognition or wealth, but by kindness freely given and the care we show to one another. Her memory will continue to live on in the hands she taught, the hearts she comforted, and the family she loved beyond measure.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Wildhorse Farm in Havre, Montana at 3pm on July 11, 2026. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, gratitude, and love as they honor Jane’s beautiful life.
