James Kurt Williams passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, August 21, 2020, surrounded by his wife and children. Kurt was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy in April 2014. He fought this disease bravely and with a positive and grateful attitude.

Kurt was born May 14, 1956, to Peter J. Williams and Carol G. Williams, in El Paso, Texas. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to Idaho. They lived in Blackfoot and Burley before settling in Boise where Kurt graduated from Capitol High School in 1974. He loved Basketball and spending time with his 4 brothers.

Kurt attended Ricks College and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Tokyo, Japan. Kurt finished his bachelor’s degree at Boise State University, where he met Tammi J. Mitchell. They were married March 23, 1979, in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Kurt had a rich and fulfilling career in human resources. He loved his 4 daughters, 1 son and 14 grandchildren. He spent his time coaching his children, serving his friends and neighbors, actively participating in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (serving for a time as a Bishop of Centennial Ward) and loving all he met. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Tammi, his 5 children, Sunni Lewis (Hyrum), Tiffany Christensen (Llyr), Katie Moss (Craig), Melissa Erickson (Dallin) and Tucker Williams, his father, Peter J. Williams, and his 4 brothers, Brad, Bruce, Mark and Todd. The world lost a brave and kind Superman!
