James Frederick Schohr, born on March 26, 1955, in Gridley, California, passed away on March 15, 2025, in Eagle, Idaho, surrounded by loved ones. He was the beloved son of Douglas and Alma Jean Schohr.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Jamie Owens, and her husband, Mark Owens; his son, Lee Schohr, and his wife, Taylor Schohr. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Kylee and Makenzie Owens, and Steele and Tayson Schohr. He also leaves behind his cherished girlfriend, Ginny Bayuk.
Jim’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren play sports and participate in their many activities. He was their biggest fan and loved cheering them on from the sidelines.
An avid outdoorsman, Jim’s favorite pastime was hunting. He also enjoyed fishing and playing golf, always finding peace and joy in nature. Never one to shy away from a good conversation, Jim spent countless hours on the phone, keeping in touch with family and friends. His laughter, stories, and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jim never went anywhere without running into someone he knew. It didn’t matter where he was, he always found a familiar face. To keep everyone straight, Jim had a habit of using both first and last names when talking about his friends, making sure there was no confusion about who he was referring to. His network of friendships was vast, and his genuine interest in others made him unforgettable.
Born and raised in Gridley, California, Jim made the heartfelt decision to move to Idaho in 2016 to be closer to his children and grandchildren, creating many treasured memories in his new home.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at his home in Star, Idaho, on March 29th at 3 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor his memory.
Jim’s legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
