Jadin Richard Zurawski
December 21, 2006 – August 3, 2023
Jadin “Bird” Richard Zurawski was born in Redwood City, California, on December 21st, 2006, and died suddenly in an accident while skateboarding in Boise, Idaho, on August 3rd, 2023, at the age of 16.
Upon moving to Boise during his early elementary years, Jadin loved spending time with family, exploring nature, camping, and being with the many friends he met through school, activities, and the Basque community. Jadin was a friend to all, demonstrating genuine kindness and care to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His friends and family remember him as open-minded, funny, sweet, inclusive, light-hearted, authentic, and optimistic, with a stellar smile, characteristic hair flip, and signature glasses. His friends’ parents felt that Jadin was like a “big brother” and always a positive influence on those in his life, regardless of age. As an actual big brother, he was looked up to and adored by his younger sister and cousins.
Jadin was wise beyond his years, with a calm, grounded presence that was rooted in his firm integrity. He cared about his community and extended group of friends and family, making everyone around him feel good about themselves. Jadin loved animals (especially his pugs), nature, music, skateboarding, snowboarding, Japanese art, and pala.
This summer, Jadin passed his driver’s test and took his first trip to Europe. He was excited to start his junior year at Boise High School with aspirations to go to nursing school. He was motivated, responsible, and focused – always working during the summer, saving money to buy his first car, and planning for his future.
Jadin is survived by his mother, Angela Zurawski; father, Joe Reiter; stepmother, Amaia Biain; sister, Alaitz Reiter-Biain; and so many grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and loved ones who will miss his kind, caring personality, beautiful smile, infectious optimism, and joyful presence in their lives.
Jadin was the absolute best son, grandson, brother, nephew, and friend. He was the joy of so many lives and will be mourned, celebrated, and loved forever.
