In 1971, the Navy brought them back to United States to Meridian, Mississippi where Hollie and Karren welcomed their third daughter Holli Pilar in 1973. After serving his country for 20 years Hollie retired from the Navy in 1976 and moved his family back home to Idaho. He loved cooking for family and friends. Hollie was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time in the Idaho mountains. Hollie’s love for animals overflowed onto his daughters helping them with their horses and raising sheep for 4H. He instilled in his girls that “I can’t” was not in their vocabulary. Hollie impacted countless lives. While he was called the “Big Guy” and could be a bit intimidating at first, due to his large stature, yet his heart and his love for his family was even bigger. He was a good friend and neighbor, loved to read about history, philosophy, and had a love for learning that never ended. There was always a story to tell, a laugh to be had.
