Heidi Duncan

Heidi Duncan, 67 a resident of Boise, passed away May 3, 2023, in Boise due to natural causes.

Heidi was born in Oakland, CA to Gale and Sally Harris on August 26, 1955. Heidi was the third and youngest child of Gale and Sally. In 1969 Heidi moved with her mother, stepfather and three of her four brothers to Donnelly, Idaho.

On September 1, 1978, Heidi joined the United States Army as a policeman and detective with the Military Police in Fort Campbell, KY. Heidi was honorably discharged from the US Army on July 31, 1979, two months prior to having her only child a daughter named Jennifer. After leaving the service Heidi and her young family moved to Alabama.

In 1981, Heidi along with her daughter Jennifer moved back to Idaho, settling in the Boise area. After moving back to Idaho Heidi began working as a secretary. Throughout her career Heidi worked as a loan officer, in accounts payable and payroll, and as a secretary at the Veterans Administration in Boise. Heidi retired from the VA in the fall of 2022.

Heidi loved cooking and trying out new recipes and spoiling her grandsons as much as possible.

Heidi is survived by her daughter Jennifer, her two grandsons Kellen and Lochlann, her mother Sally and three of her four brothers Tom, James and Bill,  4 nephews, 1 niece, 1 great nephew, 1 great niece and 1 great great nephew.

The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Creekside Transitional Care and Rehabilitation for the outstanding care and compassion they provided Heidi in her final months. The family would also like to especially thank Brandie with Horizon Hospice for going above and beyond in caring for Heidi.

A committal service, with military honors will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd. in Boise.
