Harley Harold Vegele, 80, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Meridian Idaho.
Harley was born in Walla Walla, Washington to Winifred McFarland and Arthur Vegele on July 9, 1945. He served in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967 at March Air Force Base in Riverside, CA. After the service he worked in sales for various companies.
Harley is survived by his two daughters, Kathleen (Toni) Ramicone and Robbyn Slocum; son in-law Craig Slocum; grandchildren, Lea Ramicone, Johnathan Ramicone, Stephanie Slocum and Samantha Slocum; and 5 great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his wife Shirley and both his parents.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at his assisted living (Holly, Rachel, Sarah, Harlie, Raylee, Felicia, Anna and Jody, to name a few), for keeping Harley busy, smiling and safe and for always helping Robbyn understand what he was going through. Also, to his hospice team from Lighthouse Hospice (Ciarra, Christine, Xiamena and Brittany), for answering all the endless questions Robbyn had and keeping Harley calm with all the life challenges he was facing.
A future interment will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery for Harley.
