It is with both heavy hearts and profound gratitude for having her in our lives, that we announce the passing of Goldie Marie Dilworth. Born to Cleo and Elna Hayes on May 5, 1932, in Red Cloud, Nebraska and passing peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Nampa, Idaho. She was known as Marie, Aunt Dee Dee, Grandma D and Mom.
Her early years in Nebraska were during the “Dust Bowl and Great Depression”, a time that shaped her, giving her a quiet, gentle strength and endurance, and at the same time an innate ability to see beauty in simple things. She loved her family and never took those relationships for granted. Waving goodbye to her paternal grandparents for the last time and moving to Idaho by bus with her mother and sisters was a vivid memory for her. Her Dad was working for the CCC and later joined them in Idaho. Growing up in Boise and Eagle, she loved learning to garden, sew, and cook with her Mom. She loved to sing and always had a song on her lips as she went about her day…similar to the cardinals that she also loved.
She married at a young age and raised Donna, Alta, and Charles as a single mother. She worked as a seamstress sewing everything from mattresses and upholstery to firefighting equipment and sheepskin coats. Her love of meeting people was evident in her work as a waitress throughout her life. She had a gift of making people around her feel cared for and seen… loved. In 1969, while working at the State Court Café she met a life changing persistent customer, Dee Dilworth. On April 1, 1972, they married and joined their families forever. Later, as they returned to their faith, their marriage was sealed at the Boise, Idaho Temple, April 3, 1996. They served many callings for their church including volunteering at the cannery for more than 15 years.
For 50 years Dee and Marie shared a life of love for each other, their family, and for the outdoors. You could find them camping, hunting, fishing, and gardening as often as possible. They worked together on many craft projects, collections, famed Christmas Candy, and family meals. They were always together until his passing in February, 2023.
She leaves behind her sister Norma McIntire; children Donna (Dennis) Potter, Charles (Andrea) Christon, Connie Burningham, and Peggy Gardner; grandchildren, Wendy Cowan, Jason (Anna) Dilworth, Tracey (Chris) Henry, Joe Burgess , Jenni (Marc-Francois) Bradley, Geoffrey Burningham, George Burgess, Lorena (Justin) Allred, Camille Cooper, Nicole Heline, and Cameron Christon. In addition, her legacy includes 14 great grandchildren, 30 great-great grandchildren, 19 great-great-great grandchildren with another expected in January.

At her request, it will be a closed casket ceremony. Farewell messages can be placed on the casket from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM on the day of the service.
