Gloria M. Wedman, went home to be with the Lord on July 16, 2023. She was born on February 17,of 1927, Gloria was welcomed into the world by her parents John and Mildred Ackerblom. She was born in the Ballard District of Seattle, Washington. Shortly after graduating from Ballard High School, she would be married to her husband Arlo Wedman on October 21,1945. Arlo and Gloria would go on to have 3 children, Sonya, Dennis, and Lola. Growing up, Gloria attended the local Ballard Baptist Church until moving to Concord, California in 1963. She would later move to Boise, Idaho in 1965. Throughout the moves, she remained actively faithful in her church life.
Choosing to spend her time in the constant service of others, she would find herself involved in several church or school-related activities. As well as the love she shared with her family, friends, missionaries, or even neighbors when she would host dinners. Her professional life would span from JC Penny’s as a sales-clerk and cashier, to working with Medicare as a claims specialist for the deceased. In her free time, she was a very gifted violinist, and loved to perform in concerts, solos, and for many celebrations and events. While serving as President and Social Director for the Willowbrook Neighborhood, she began ‘The Silver Bells’ women’s choir. This group would go on to perform in many venues around the Boise area. She also directed choirs in each church she was a member of.
No matter the difficult the task at hand, she was always full of laughter and a dedicated worker. Gloria went on to continue her service in Heaven on July 16, 2023, and laid to rest in Dry Creek.
Gloria is proceeded in death by her parents, John and Mildred, her beloved husband, Arlo, and her sister, Rosalie Holfeldt. Gloria is survived by her children Sonya Seely, Dennis Wedman, and Lola Davis, her grandchildren Lori Stapleton (Colin), Jonathan Seely (Amanda), Melissa Wedman Gulley (Tyson), and Lisa Wedman Zappa (Tony), as well as 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held to celebrate and in remembrance of Gloria’s life.
