Gloria Mae Kieselhorst, age 91, of Ontario, OR, was called home to her heavenly Father on July 3, 2026.
Gloria was born on July 12, 1934, to Frank and Clifford Edna Kieselhorst. Her family moved to Ontario, Oregon, in 1941. Following her mother’s passing in 1947, Gloria’s father married Gail Weineke Huffman, and Gloria became a beloved daughter to Gail and a dear sister to Beverly Huffman. A 1953 graduate of Ontario High School, Gloria spent her entire career as a library aide at the Ontario Community Library, retiring in 1999. She was a devoted, long-standing member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Nampa. Known for her generous nature and sly sense of humor, Gloria made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed traveling to the Czech Republic, Austria, and throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. She most often traveled with her close friend, Leta Johnson. The two were known to celebrate their birthdays in Jackpot, Nevada, where, in Leta’s words, they would "donate in moderation" at their favorite gaming tables.
Gloria was preceded in death by her mother Clifford Edna Bell Kieselhorst, father Frank William Kieselhorst, stepmother Gail Ritchie Kieselhorst, and stepsister Beverly Huffman Fricke. She is survived by her niece Tamara Ansotegui, Tamara’s husband Dan Ansotegui, and great niece and nephew, Naomi and Gavriel Shapiro. Gloria was a steady, loving presence in our lives and we will miss her beyond measure.
Gloria’s family wishes to thank the Truewood staff in Boise, who provided a loving home and companionship for Gloria and her cat, Princess, over the past seven years. We also extend our gratitude to the kind and attentive staff at White Oak Hospice for the care and comfort they provided during Gloria’s final days. Finally, we offer our heartfelt appreciation to Messiah Lutheran Church and Pastor Gran for the love and support shown to Gloria and her family over the years.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Justin Gran will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 534 W Iowa Ave, Nampa, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026. A luncheon reception will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Messiah Lutheran Church in Nampa (https://messiahnampa.com/give/).
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City.
