George Max Hoyle, Jr was born in Gooding, Idaho, on September 24, 1936 to Edna and George Max Hoyle, Sn. He passed away in Boise, Idaho on September 16, 2023.
George grew up in Gooding as the youngest of 6 children. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for six years. After being honorably discharged from the military, George completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from Idaho State University. Upon graduation he became a teacher at the Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind, in Gooding. During his tenure at ISDB he completed 2 Master’s degrees; one is special education and one in administration. In addition to teaching students at ISDB, George served as an administrator and coach, there. His professional career also led him to work as a leader in a deaf education program in Nebraska and as a teacher and administrator in public schools in rural Alaska. While in Alaska, George discovered the grandeur and beauty that wild place held on his soul. He taught, worked, lived and played there for 30 years. George retired from education to pursue his passion—salmon fishing in southeast Alaska. His children and grandchildren took many vacations to Alaska to visit and fish with him. The adventures there were numerous and the memories made with him are cherished. Needless to say, George was often found to be telling a myriad of fish stories to relatives, friends and strangers.
George was predeceased by his parents, his sister and brothers, Maxine, Bill, Bob, Jim, and Benny and his son-in-law Darin Zarbnisky. He is survived by his wife L. Janet Stout; his three children Julia Zarbnisky, Jenny Schrock (Tony) and Timothy Hoyle (Jamie Lorenzo); four grandchildren TJ Schrock, Austin Hoyle (Cierra), Alexa Zarbnisky Alberda (Cuyler) and Riley Schrock; and two great grandchildren Oakley & Clayton-Jon Hoyle.
