Alan Crider was born on November 24, 1940 and passed away on July 8, 2024. He was born in Denver, Colorado to George B & Dorothy A Zion. He was the youngest of their 4 sons. The family lived in Turkey Creek Canyon west of Denver and spent every second they could roaming in the Colorado mountains near their home. He joined the Air Force at age 17 and after his tour was complete he went to work for Martin Marietta Corp in Denver where he was involved in making parts for the rockets that NASA was sending into space at that time. When his parents decided to move to Gopher Valley, OR he left Martin Marietta to help them make the move. After spending some months in Oregon he returned to Denver where he worked for Eby Construction, then Colorado Public Service, in their natural gas division.
He met & married his wife, Joyce, in Lakewood. Colorado. They were married in 1964 and have been blessed with 3 children. In 1967 they decided to move the family to Twin Falls, ID where Alan worked for Sears & for United Automotive as a small engine mechanic until he was able to get on with the Intermountain Gas Co. where he worked as a service tech & then a corrosion tech until he retired in 2002.. They then moved to Nampa, ID & in 1976 built their current home in Caldwell, ID
Alan was an avid fisherman & hunter. The family spent time fishing & camping in Colorado, Idaho & Alaska. Many trips were made to Alaska flying in to various lakes & rivers and fishing for halibut in the ocean. Besides halibut, he caught salmon, shee fish, lake trout & dolly varden. But in all things his relationship with Jesus came first.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, and his brothers, David, Norman & Phillip Crider. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, their 3 children, Michele & Philip White, Michael & Kristine Crider, Cheri & Jerry Ames, 10 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday August 22 nd at Eagle Christian Church – Fireside Room, 100 S Short Rd, Eagle, ID.
