Gayle Y. Coy, 91, of Boise, passed away January 14, 2025.
Mom made sure she lived a full life. From a depression era farm girl to the hostess with the mostest. She was accomplished at any task she put her hands to.
Her early years were in Santa Monica, the Hollywood scene was a big influence. When possible they traveled extensively, attended social events and hosted many events.
She loved all animals, tended to many, which most wouldn’t bother. Outdoors is where you would find her. Fisher woman like none other. Stories from Notellum Lake could fill a book. Camping fishing and gardening were deep within her soul. Award winning Orchids took over the greenhouse. Endless flowerbeds and a garden of vegetables to tend. We spent many hours canning those veggies. An extraordinary seamstress, she tailored clothing to elaborate costumes. As a choir member of The Madrigals, she would spend many late nights creating the gowns and costumes for the choir and also Boise Music Week. Often she created beautiful wedding cakes as gifts. Bowling to baking, she mastered it all.
Gayle was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James R Coy. Sons Robin and Reid; her parents Roy and Marguerite Warner. Her brothers Roy II and John.
Survived by son Robert and daughter Rhonda (Dave) Harris, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her sisters in law Beverly & Jeanean.
A celebration of life will be an outdoor event held, 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm, Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Kathryn Albertsons Park, 1001 S. Americana Blvd, Boise, Idaho, at the Rookery Shelter.
