Gary Dale Christensen, 79, of Eagle, Idaho, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, in Boise, Idaho.
Gary was born on July 23, 1946, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Boyd M. and Frances Lucille (Zink) Christensen. He was lovingly raised by his stepfather, Ernie Murri for most of his life. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1971 with a degree in accounting.
Gary married the love of his life, Judith K. (Homer) Christensen, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and service. He was a dedicated commercial insurance broker for over 40 years, respected by his clients and colleagues alike. From 1966 to 1968, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Florida. His faith remained central to his life, and he served willingly in many church callings, as well as in the community with the Boy Scouts of America and the March of Dimes.
An avid outdoorsman, Gary loved hunting, skiing, golfing, and enjoying the outdoors in every season. McCall, Idaho, became a cherished retreat for him and his family. He often reminded his children of the value of hard work, living by his own words: “I may not be the smartest man, but no one can outwork me!” Gary lived selflessly, providing for his family and giving generously to others. He will be remembered for his kindness, humility, and unwavering support for everyone around him.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd M. and Frances Lucille (Zink) Christensen; his stepfather, Ernie Murri; his brother, Reed and his wife Yoni Christensen; and his sisters, Joan and her husband John Larson and Joyce and her husband Bart Carlson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Christensen; his children, McCord and his wife Katy Christensen, Mike and his wife Jill Christensen, Megan and her husband Jeremy Jaynes, and Chris and his wife Christine Christensen; his brother, Tom and his wife Nancy Murri; and fifteen grandchildren who adored him.
