Our precious and much-loved Gail had such a humble, sweet spirit. She passed away on October 24, 2023.
Gail was born a triplet along with her brother Gordon and her sister Gretchen on February 24, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo to Esther and George Phelps Toler. Gail spent most of her childhood in Jerome, Idaho and then her parents moved to Boise, Idaho. Gail graduated from Borah High School in Boise in 1959 where she was active in several clubs. Gail attended Boise Jr. College where she met Jack Klinchuch in a dance class. They grew in friendship and got married on September 3, 1961. Gail helped support Jack’s last year at the University of Idaho by working for Professor Hosak. Gail and Jack moved to Orange, California upon Jack’s graduation where Jack was offered a job as an aerospace engineer. While in Orange, her daughter Karen was born in 1963 and her son Brent was born in 1965. They later moved to Trabuco Canyon, California and they lived for over 50 years total in California. During that time, their children Karen and Brent grew up, married, and raised families. Brent now lives in California and Karen lives in South Carolina.
Gail lived a vibrant life. She helped with a neighborhood Bible study for children called the Good News Club. Gail also led a woman’s Bible Study for about 12 years in Bible Study Fellowship. Gail did an excellent job of raising our two children, Karen and Brent in a Christian environment and is largely responsible that they are both Christians. Gail and Jack traveled to many countries and went on numerous mission trips to share the gospel and minister to orphans.
Gail was a good example of the Proverbs 31 wife. She was an excellent home-maker, a loving wife and mother. She was very frugal and kept track of the family finances while taking care of shopping, cooking, family raising, being a wife and leading Bible Studies and working at an outside job for several years. Gail worked for the County Assessor’s office and for the Regional Occupational Program for California.
Gail’s main hobby and love were horses. She rode her horses in both Western and English horse shows and won many ribbons in these shows. She also taught Karen to ride and to love horses also.
In 2014 Gail and Jack moved back to Idaho from California and purchased a home in Meridian. They attended Eagle Christian Church and belonged to several small group Bible Studies.
Gail is survived by her husband Jack, her daughter Karen and husband Brian Spenrath, her son Brent Klinchuch and his wife Dory; grandchildren include Emalyn and Ethan Klinchuch, Jennifer Barron, Miles Spenrath and his wife Laura, Justin Klinchuch and his son Tycho, Kendra Azure and her husband Ben.
