Evelyn Patricia “Patsy” Campbell, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on March 15, 2025, at the age of 85.
Pat was born to Joseph Woodrow Walker and Evelyn Ora Horn Walker in Nampa, Idaho on June 8, 1939, and preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 63 years William “Bill” Campbell. She will be missed by her six children: Joe, Teresa (Jeff) Pino, Kenny (Kassie), Billy, Patti (Curt) Guiles, and Chris (Lindsay) as well as her 8 grandchildren and 7great-grandchildren.
Pat grew up in Marsing, Idaho, spending winters in town and on the family ranch on Squaw Creek in the summers. She graduated from Marsing High School in 1957. She loved her horses and was close to her grandma, Elizabeth Louise Walker, who lived near their ranch.
She married the love of her life, Bill Campbell, on October 29th, 1960, and were inseparable, except when duty called. Bill joined the Army in 1961 and together they were stationed around the world. The family lived in Virginia, Texas, Washington, Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Arizona, Oregon, and Germany. Bill also served three tours in Vietnam and eventually retired in 1981, after serving his country for 20 years. Pat held several odd jobs here and there throughout those years but mainly relished the job of being a full-time mother.
The family moved back to Boise, Idaho so that Bill could continue his education at Boise State University. Graduating BSU in 1985 and following a 7-year stint at Micron, he and Pat wanted to travel. To do that and still collect a paycheck, Bill drove long haul trucks, crisscrossing the country multiple times, with Pat always as his navigator. They did that until they permanently retired in 2004. Traveling continued to be a passion for them, so they bought an RV and spent time traveling the US to visit family, see new places, and to simply enjoy their time together. They even managed to fit in a few non-driving trips, going to Alaska, Hawaii, Scotland and Ireland.
Their six adult children have fond memories of Sunday drives, tent camping and fishing anytime the family could get away. While they did not always enjoy being uprooted with each Army move, they look back with an awareness of how much was gained by these experiences.
A celebration of her life will be held at Bowman Funeral Home located at 10254 W. Carlton Bay Garden City, Idaho 83714, on Saturday April 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to send heartfelt gratitude to the staff at both Edgewood in Meridian, who have taken care of Pat over the last 4 years, and to the angels who work at Idaho Home & Hospice.
