Esther Louise Boltz, 94, of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025. Born in Yakima, Washington on January 26, 1931, she was the youngest child of John and Olivia Ewald.
Esther met her husband of 66 years, Elmer Boltz, at the WELS Lutheran Church in Yakima, Washington. While Elmer served overseas during World War II, Esther completed a nursing degree at Deaconess School of Nursing in Spokane, Washington. Upon their return to the Yakima Valley, they married on November 23, 1952.
A lifelong Christian, Esther enjoyed fulfilling the roles she took on at church including providing arrangements for the altar containing dahlias which she grew in her garden and providing meals for others. She was a long-time member of the Fairwood Garden Club and made some dear friendships there which lasted the rest of her life. She also loved to travel, crochet, sew, scrapbook, and spend happy hours with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Elmer, parents John and Olivia Ewald, and brother Walter Ewald. She is survived by her children Michael Boltz (Shari), Janice Lewis (Randy), Kathleen (Todd), grandson Kevin Lewis (Carly), granddaughters Alana and Olivia Boltz, and great grandchildren Hazel and William Lewis.
