Eloise Ruth Rachel Johnson, aged 88, of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025. She was born on September 3, 1937, to Kenneth and Alice Ashby. Eloise lived a life marked by love, resilience, and dedication to her family.

her youth, Eloise was raised alongside her siblings Ida, Sarah, Sidney Jr., and Kenneth Ashby, fostering strong familial bonds that would carry through her life. On February 12, 1965, she married the love of her life, Arlen Johnson, and together they experienced 60 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was blessed with four children: Ricky, Robert, Arleta, and Kirby, each of whom she cherished deeply.

Eloise’s journey took her from the community of Noatak to Mississippi, where she devoted herself to caring for the Parcell family's four children while continuing her education. Her passion for growth and learning was evident throughout her life and influenced her various endeavors.

She later moved to Hawaii, where she took on a job at the Dole Pineapple Company, adding sugar to canned pineapple for a modest pay of $1.00 an hour. This experience in Hawaii was just one of many that highlighted her remarkable adaptability and tireless work ethic.

Upon returning to Alaska, Eloise found work in Juneau, where serendipity led her to meet Arlen Johnson, her future husband. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love, and she was not only a wonderful wife but also a nurturing mother who provided unwavering support and guidance to her children.

Eloise’s legacy extends beyond her immediate family, as she was known as a wonderful aunt, cousin, and a beloved grandmother and great-great-grandmother to her grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, and radiant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

As we remember Eloise Ruth Rachel Johnson, we celebrate the indelible impact she made in our lives. She leaves behind a loving family and countless memories that will be cherished forever. Her spirit will continue to live on through her descendants and the lives she influenced.

A committal service will be held at the Noatak, North Side Cemetery, Noatak, Alaska.
