Elizabeth Ann
Holsinger
December 4, 1936 – May 12, 2026
Liz Holsinger, 89, of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026.
Born on December 4, 1936, in Nampa, Idaho, Liz was the daughter of Lawrence Limbaugh Sr. and Catherine Limbaugh. She was raised on her family’s fruit ranch in Fruitland, Idaho, where she developed the strong work ethic, warmth, and appreciation for life that would define her throughout the years.
The College of Idaho awarded Liz a BA in Applied Music in 1959.
Liz met the love of her life, Kern Holsinger, at the Holsinger family music store in Boise in 1960.They were married on December 26, 1960, at the Fruitland Methodist Church and shared 65 wonderful years together. Boise remained her lifelong home, where she built a life centered on faith, family, music, and service to others.
A devout Christian, Liz attended and served many churches throughout Boise over the years. Music was one of the greatest passions of her life, and she was a gifted and accomplished pianist and organist. As a performer, teacher, and accompanist, she touched countless lives through her extraordinary musical talent. Liz believed deeply that a good accompanist should enhance and support the soloist, reflecting her own generous, humble, and caring nature.
For more than 60 years, Liz was an outstanding piano teacher whose dedication and high standards inspired generations of students. Her students often heard her say they could produce either results or excuses — and she was never interested in excuses. Her sharp musical ear, combined with her love for both jazz and classical music, made her a remarkable musician and mentor.
Beyond music, Liz was a talented seamstress and artist whose creative passions included sewing, quilting, cross-stitch, and needlepoint. She was an avid reader who could often be found with a book in hand. She was also a photographer with an exceptional eye for composition. Long before digital photography, she developed photos in her own darkroom, combining technical skill with artistic vision.
Liz was known for her wonderful sense of humor, honesty, compassion, and vibrant energy. She was a motivating and supportive mother, always encouraging those she loved. Those same qualities she shared with her many friends. She also had impeccable taste in fashion and clothing.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kern Holsinger; her children, Debi Holsinger of Boise,Karin Holsinger of Portland, Oregon, and Brad Holsinger of Boise; her brother-in- law and his wife,Karl and Carol Holsinger of Boise.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lawrence Limbaugh Jr.
To her family, Liz was not only a beloved wife and mother, but also a best friend who wholeheartedly shared life, love, and music.
