Eldon Earl Carson, 90, of Thousand Oaks, CA passed away on December 4, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Meridian, Idaho. Eldon, who went by his middle name, Earl, was born in American Fork, Utah to Eldon Earl Carson and Mayza Rushton on October 30, 1932. He was the oldest of four children and was raised in Pioche, Nevada, but also spent his early years living in American Fork, Utah. Because of the passing of his own father during his early teenage years, he helped raise his 3 younger siblings and was taught the values of hard work and dedication to family. As a distraction from his responsibilities, he would take his pet horse, Star, and ride the open ranges where he lived and created fond memories of those times. He also loved to hunt in his younger years, played golf with his two younger brothers & had many family picnics and bonding times with extended family.
Earl graduated from Lincoln High School in Panaca, Nevada. After graduating high school, he then decided to join the Army branch of the military. After his service with the military, he went to college at Brigham Young University. He then finished school at Utah State University in Logan where he studied Accounting and received his degree. After graduating with his degree & obtaining his CPA license, he started his first job in Salt Lake City, Utah, at an accounting firm. He then moved to California, starting his own CPA practice for the majority of his career. He then became the CFO at Anthony’s Glass Manufacturing. After the owners sold the company, Earl had the rare opportunity of having them as his sole clients to manage their finances and investments.
During the time he owned his own CPA practice, he met Carol Ann Marrone through a mutual friend. He married Carol in West Hills, California, and then later was sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles temple on January 6, 1984. Earl and Carol have two daughters, Kimberly Louise and Stephanie Marie. Earl has a son, Earl David, through a previous marriage.
Earl kept his CPA practice and worked until he was 86 years old because of the passion he had for his career choice. You could often find him in his office at home, working with numbers, spread sheets, preparing taxes or estimating taxes. If he wasn’t doing that, he found enjoyment in researching family history. Earl and Carol spent a number of years building family memories with their children. They loved to go boating, water skiing, snow skiing, camping in style, bike riding, fishing and taking many family vacations.
Earl will be remembered for his dedication and love for his family, his love and devotion toward Jesus Christ, his quiet and soft demeanor, his willingness to serve others, his love and enjoyment that his wife, daughters and grandchildren gave him, his love for life, but also knowing the plan of salvation and that families can be together forever. He will sorely be missed, but envision his joyful reunion with his father, Eldon, his mother Mayza, and his younger brother Larry, along with all of his ancestors. Earl is survived by his spouse, Carol Ann, children Kimberly Louise Mehr (Dale), Stephanie Marie Voges (Christian), and Earl David Carson (Shauna), his grandchildren Kyleigh Ann, Bradley Ellis, Tanner Eldon, Mackenzie Jane, Carter Stefan, Mason Clark, Carson Mitchell, Mayza June, Ashley Lauren, Nicolas David, and Eric Eldon.
Earl’s viewing will take place Thursday, January 5th at 10:00 a.m; with services at 11:00 a.m; and internment at 1:00 p.m. in Boise, Idaho. A Memorial Service will be held in Thousand Oaks, California at the end of January, 2023. Date and time have not been established at this time.
