Edward (Ed) Washburn was born Nov 26, 1950 to Lester and Dawno Washburn and passed away in his sleep Aug 14, 2026. Ed lived in Boise all his life where he made many lasting friendships. Ed was an expert car painter. He also worked for Idaho Peterbilt and loved his time working with the horses at Les Bois Racetrack. He was married and divorced. Ed had no kids of his own but loved teasing his nieces and nephews.
Ed loved fishing. Going on jet boat trips with his buddies on the Clearwater River fishing for Steelhead ranked top on his list. He also liked to throw darts or just hanging out at his favorite pub telling stories.
Per his wishes Ed was cremated and his ashes will be placed in the river at Riggins where he loved to be.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sisters JoAnn VonDollen and Bonnie Killian and his nephew Tom Washburn. He will be missed by his sisters Edith (Joe)Schmitz and Pat Washburn, his brothers Merle (Linda) Washburn and Kim (Sherry) Washburn as well as many nieces and nephews.
We want to give a special thanks to Kevin Homan who was always there for Ed and helped him so much. RIP Uncle Ed
