Dorothy J. Lundy passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Dorothy was born on August 30, 1930, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Jerold and Nora Jennings. She was the first of eight children. She grew up around southern Idaho, living in the Magic Valley area where she attended schools in Bone, Wendell and the Appleton School near Jerome, Idaho.
After moving to Boise to attend beauty school, she met her husband, Joseph H. Lundy, and they were married on September 6, 1951. His military career in the United States Air Force had them move around the country, living in Boise, Idaho, over to England, then back to Mountain Home, Idaho. A short time later it was off to Albany, Georgia. Soon the family was back in England, then returning to the states in Rapid City, South Dakota. The next move was to Lewiston, Idaho where they bought their first home. Eight years later, they relocated to Kuna, Idaho, where sadly, she lost her husband. A few years after his passing, she moved to Kimberly Idaho, later returning to the Boise Valley area.
Dorothy was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, being a member in three different chapters, starting in Laurel Chapter #13, in Lewiston, and was active in Rob Morris Chapter #63 in Kuna and Twin Falls Chapter #29. She was a Past Matron in both chapters. She also belonged to The Order of the Amaranth, Garnet Court #5, Gooding and Daughters of the Nile, Iras Temple #40 of Boise. She also worked with both Rainbow Girls and Job’s Daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brothers Gerald Jennings, and Larry Jennings and sisters: Pauline Walgamott, Grace Harmon and Shirly Sherard.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Chuck (Patty) Lundy, Joe (Kathy) Lundy and Lenora (Justin) Bickel. Grandchildren: Rob Lundy, Tina Lundy, Jamie Langager, Jennifer Bradley, Clint Lundy, Deana Jolley, Kayla Lundy, Kara Lundy, Amberlynn Hanson and Gabe Franco. Dorothy leaves behind 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by our bonus family, Dick (Donna) Sorenson, grandchildren: Rick Sorenson, Tami Gaupp, 2 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Grant Jennings and Virgil Jennings, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

A graveside service will be held, 10:00 am, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Kuna City Cemetery, 1321 Boise St., Kuna, Idaho.
The family would like to invite you all to join them for a potluck Celebration of Life immediately following the committal service at the Kuna United Methodist Church, 260 W. 4th St., Kuna, Idaho. The family will be providing the meat, please bring your favorite dish to share.
