In loving Memory of Dorothy Elizabeth Bench

With heavy hearts, my brother and I announce the passing of our beloved Mother, our sweet English Rose.  Her gentle spirit, warmth and grace touched everyone who knew her. Mom was a remarkable woman. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, where her exceptional cooking brought family and friends together. An avid reader, she could often be found immersed in a book. Her knitting skills were unmatched and many cherished her lovely crafted gifts, each stitch woven with care. She enjoyed bowling, which she did with Dad for many years.  She loved her gardening and playing her music loudly, especially when it was Tom Jones or Frankie Lane.

Mom was a dedicated stay at home Mom for many years, taking care of David, myself and Dad. When the time was right, she stepped into a new role outside the home, working at Saint Alphonsus, where she brought the same kindness and dedication that she shared with her family.  When she was done working, she volunteered at Saint Alphonsus for years, loving every moment of it.

Born and raised in England, she carried her love of her homeland in her heart and kept so many English traditions alive that she has passed on to us.   She found immense joy in her family, cherishing every moment with them,  She is survived by her daughter Christine(Stephen), her son David, her grandson Michael(Alyssa), her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Nikki, Jason and Grayson and her loving sisters Audrey and Gloria and cherished nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Duane, her parents Harriet and Winston Johnson and her great grandson Jason.

While we are deeply saddened by her loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with our Dad in heaven.  Mom, you will always be loved and never forgotten.

Celebration of life to be announced shortly.
