Donny Lee Wageman, 71 of Nampa Idaho, passed away on September 8th, 2024 in Eagle Idaho with his loving wife Cathy by his side.

Donny was born August 31st, 1953 in Nyssa Oregon, the son of Vernon and Betty Amen Wageman. . He attended school in Burley and Heyburn and graduated from Minico High School in 1972. He then went to work for J.R. Simplot in the Heyburn plant and later moving to the Nampa plant where he retired after 42 years.

He married Cathy Wilcox on March 25th 1978 in Rupert Idaho. Don was an amazing husband and devoted dad to his sons and everything they are involved in. He was a loving grandfather and loved spoiling his grandkids and great-grandkids. Don loved to bowl, fish, golf, and in his younger years loved playing softball. He was an avid fan of football, never missing a Boise State Bronco or Pittsburgh Steeler game. Don loved to travel, whether it was seeing sites. visiting family or catching the occasional college football bowl game. Don’s favorite place was the Oregon coast where he would enjoy sipping his coffee while walking up and down the beaches.

Don was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother Terry Wageman. He is survived by his wife Cathy Wageman, two sons Matthew (Nora) Wageman and Corey (Christina) Wageman, his siblings, Karen Higley, Dale (Junko) Wageman, and Karla (Dwight) Higley, and his sister-in-law Vicki (Terry) Barret. He is also survived by his grandson Triston (Sara) Ponce, granddaughter Lucille Wageman, and two great granddaughters Mila and Lola Ponce.

Donny will always be remembered for his wit and crazy jokes. He loved his family dearly and loved making them laugh every chance he got. We will miss him terribly but we are grateful knowing he is at peace no longer burdened with pain or confusion.

We will be holding a gathering in the spring of 2025 to remember and celebrate Donny. The celebration will be held in the Boise area, date and location will be announced at a later date.
