Donna Louise Burch, née Norvell, 76, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2025. Her final moments were blessedly peaceful and were spent in the company of her family.
Donna was born October 16, 1948 at Saint Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho, the daughter of Constance “Connie” (née McDonald) and Kenneth A. Norvell.
Donna graduated from Bishop Kelly High School. She went on to work for a variety of organizations in administrative and people management fields, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of the Interior, and as an executive assistant for churches.
Donna married Phillip R. Burch on September 8, 1979 in Boise, Idaho. They celebrated 46 years of marriage this past September. They had one son together, Andy, who was Donna’s world. She also doted on her Shih Tzu’s, including her current pack - Rascal, Bailey, and Max.
Donna always appreciated the finer things in life. She especially loved traveling and shopping. Honolulu being a favorite locale. While she was a private person who savored her time at home and with loved ones, she was always up for an adventure like parasailing. Chico’s and Talbots were two of her favorite stores.
Over the course of her lifetime, Donna called Boise, Spokane, Indianapolis, Washington, D.C., and Dorf Güll, Germany home.
Donna attended Nampa First United Methodist Church where she volunteered for kitchen work, greeting fellow congregants, and Bible study work. She was also passionate about her work with Weight Watchers.
Remaining to cherish Donna’s memory are her husband, Phil; her son and his wife, Andy Burch and Brandi Murphy-Burch; her step-son and his wife, Rusty Burch and Joni Burch; her step-grandchildren, Jolie and Whitney; her sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Paul Carter; her sister-in-law, Judy Wolny; her nephew, Kelly; and her nieces Heather and Jennifer.
Preceding Donna in death are her father, Kenneth Norvell; her mother, Connie Norvell; and her elder sister, Kathy Whiting.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 15th at Nampa First United Methodist Church, 2717 12th Ave., Nampa, Idaho, with a reception to immediately follow. In honor of Donna, blue jeans are encouraged.
