Donald J Hill, 86, passed away at home on May 18, 2023 surrounded by family.
He was born in Idaho Falls, June 30, 1936 to Jesse Ivan and Sarah Ellen (Young) Hill.
Donald began his working career in the Air Force. When he was stationed in Illinois, he met the
love of his life Patricia, at church. He married Patricia Ann Taylor, April 12, 1957.
They were
sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. While serving in the Air Force, Donald began his training and
education as a refrigeration technician. In 1968 he moved to Boise, ID and started Action
Appliance. He worked independently doing in home appliance service in the Treasure Valley for
nearly 50 years. When Donald was not working, he was fishing. He was an avid fisherman.
After retiring, he spent much of his time gardening. He grew the best cantaloupe, and tomatoes
and often was found selling his produce.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, 4 children, Shane & (Jeanne), Jerry & (Traci), David, Jonathan & (Laurel), 10 grand kids, Douglas, Jeremy, Jesse, Justin, Matthew, Mary, Donny, Cameron, Andrew & Eric, & 15 great grand kids. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 10 siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints chapel located at 7200 Duncan Lane, Boise, ID 83704. Viewing will be held prior to the services from 10 to 11 am.
