Dolores Ann Oettle Miller, age 95, born in Detroit, MI, grew up in Springfield, IL, raised a family in Winnetka, CA and passed away in Boise, ID on March 6, 2026 of natural causes.

Dolores was born to Isaac and Velma Oettle on July 3rd, 1930. She was the second daughter of three. Dolores spent her youth in Springfield, Illinois. She attended a Four-Square church, their church camps and sang in the choir. While attending Lanphier High School in Springfield she also enjoyed singing in the choir. Her favorite song from that choir was Fairest Lord Jesus. She had a beautiful alto voice. She graduated in 1948. After high school graduation, Dolores worked for a law firm in Illinois.

Dolores married Guy Morton Miller in North Hollywood, California, on October 20, 1951. They were married for 68 years. They had three children - Gary, Gail, and Jan. They settled in Canoga Park (now known as Winnetka), California, in 1956. While in California, Dolores worked for a law firm and as an office manager for JCPenney. But mostly she spent her time as a loving mom and homemaker. She and Guy moved to Boise, Idaho in 2018 to be near their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Guy, her parents Isaac and Velma, her younger sister Beverly Yustus, and her beloved Grandma Turner. She is survived by her older sister Norma Barth; her three children: Gary (Charlene) Miller, Gail Thompson, and Jan Miller; her grandchildren: Erin (Matt) Jones, Cameron Kitchin, Geoff (Kendra) Miller, and Drew (Anna) Miller; and her great-grandchildren: Brennan, Jack, Cora, Cameron, Will, Rose, and Ezra.

Dolores is remembered fondly by many as kind, sweet, and giving. She always made her home available to extended family and friends, was a gracious hostess and served others unselfishly. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and always opened her home to them, but they loved it more. Holidays and family gatherings were always fun and memorable, and she went out of her way to quietly help others. Many were blessed by her superb home cooking, especially her Róski and pies always shared around a family dinner table. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Idaho State Veteran’s Cemetery on Monday, April 13th, at 11:00 AM. Dolores will be interred with her husband, Guy.
