Diana was born in Ventura, California, in 1956. Two older brothers, three younger. Her family moved to Idaho in the early 60’s, where she and her brothers walked to St. Mary’s on State from their home on Collister.

She had a son, Shawn, when she was very young in 1972. That fortunate child became the center of her world, receiving so much love, warmth and joy.

She married John Kingma in 1978, and they moved to Seaside, Oregon, where they eventually bought and operated a bodega in Wheeler, Oregon, along Highway 101. After a few years they sold it and bought a Tavern and Pizzeria in Bay City, Oregon.

When she and John divorced, she and Shawn moved back to Boise. There she decided to do what SHE wanted, combining her joy of beauty, artistic flair, and empathetic interpersonal genius, she became a very successful Nail Tech at Graebers. This period was one of the happiest in her life.

Tragedy stuck in 1997, when she developed an aneurism. Left partially disabled, she soldiered on! With the help of a dear friend, she set up shop again in her new home on Hill Road. There she lived and shared her warmth and joyous disposition with family, friends, and clients, for many years.

In 2017, a dear old friend reentered her life, Victor Cocotis. Friends for over forty years, they had one glorious year together before the fates called Victor back to god.

Her last years were lightened by the affection of her family. She died peaceably in her sleep September 17, 2024.

Such broad strokes fail to capture the magic spirit of this remarkable woman. She had an aura about her, an effervescence. In spite of life’s challenges and set backs, she shone brightly and defiantly optimistic, even unto the end. She will be dearly missed.
