Dennis Clark Bowles was born to Arthur Clark Bowles and Helen Nilson Bowles on December 31, 1944 in Salt Lake City, UT. He died in Boise, ID on March 22, 2024 of complications from cancer.

Dennis was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother-Bill and his sister-Beverly.

Dennis served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in what was then the Northern States Mission, headquartered in Chicago, IL.

Dennis married Dona (Idona Huffaker) in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 7, 1967. They are the parents of four daughters and their families: Sonia (Bryan) Taylor of Boise, ID; Trina (Kit) Allen of Houston, TX; Tanya (Doran) Christensen of Iowa City, IA; and Krista (Kent) Ringger of Land O’Lakes, FL.

He is survived by Dona, his four daughters, their husbands, 23 grandchildren and spouses; and 5, soon to be 6, great grand children.

Dennis was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many capacities over the years including home teacher, Sunday School teacher, three bishoprics (once as bishop), twice as High Priest group leader, twice as a member of the Stake High Council and as a member of the first Boise Idaho East Stake presidency.

Immediately following his graduation from Brigham Young University (Provo) in 1969, Dennis worked four years for Exxon. Exxon Moved Dennis and family from Provo to Denver, CO and then to Albuquerque,NM. In 1973 Dennis and Dona moved their family to Boise, ID where Dennis began his career with MetLife, which he loved. Dennis was fortunate enough to lead the MetLife Seattle / Portland five state region in sales several years and earned the distinction of becoming a “Life Member” of the MetLife President’s Conference.

Over the years, Dennis, Dona and family have enjoyed camping trips and other kinds of family travel and activities. As their family grew and became more spread out geographically, Dennis and Dona enjoyed organizing family reunions and taking trips to visit each of them in their various locations.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 29 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building located at 1925 S Broadway in Boise, ID. A viewing will be at 10:00 am with funeral services at 11:00 am. A graveside service will be conducted following the funeral service at the Dry Creek Cemetery located at 9600 Hill Rd. in Boise.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Humanitarian Aid Funds of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or the American Cancer Society.
