David Mark Young of Meridian passed away on November 25, 2023, at Cascadia of Boise from extended health issues. He was born in Vancouver Washington on July 7, 1950. His family moved several times before they settled down in Caldwell, Idaho. He was most recently living in Meridian, Idaho with his wife and two dogs before going to Cascadia of Boise in August 2023.
David is survived by his wife of 37 years Amy, his son Charlie, his brother Dale and his wife Katie, his nieces Tara, Tristen and their spouses Joe, Danny, his great niece and nephew Lacie, Daniel, and Lacie's spouse Cole and by his great, great niece Logan. David was preceded in death by his mother Nadine and his father Curt.
David got his Bachelor of Arts in Social Work at Boise State University in 1974. He worked at the Sandpiper during and after college as a waiter and bartender, he then worked at Saint Anthony's and Idaho State School and Hospital, along with several other organizations before working at the Boise Samaritan Village where he worked until he retired in 2018.
He was an avid golfer and fly fisherman and loved doing both with friends and family. In his early years he enjoyed camping, white-water rafting, taking trips and riding his Harley Davidson. His greatest joy was his son Charlie. He loved to co-coach with his son on varies basketball teams.
His Celebration of Life will be at Friendship Celebration Lutheran Church, 765 West Chinden Blvd, Meridian, Idaho, January 13, 2024, at 11:00am with a BBQ to follow.
