Born in Boise, Idaho on September 28th, 1952, to John and Bernice Stanfield; David was the oldest of seven children and passed away on February 17th, 2026. As a child he enjoyed taking things apart just to see how they worked so it became natural for him to work on cars and his beloved Opals. As a young man David worked for the California Conservation Corps as a firefighter in the Redding and Northern California forests. In the 2 years prior to his death, David owned and operated Controlled Comfort, an HVAC company serving the Treasure Valley. David was an avid reader and loved his vast collection of books.
He is survived by three children, Amy, Jacob, Aaron, and their children (and grandchildren). He is also survived by siblings; John (Chris), Rose (David), Margaret, William, Timothy, and a large number of cousins, two aunts, and one uncle. He was an uncle to several nieces and nephews, and a grand niece and nephew.
David was proceeded in death by both parents and his sister Bernice Romero.
May the lord receive him into the grace of heaven.
