David Hoy Morgan

David Hoy Morgan, 52, passed away Thursday, August 20th, in Boise, Idaho.

Born and raised in Oregon, David attended Southern Oregon University in Ashland where he played college football and graduated with a BS in Chemistry.

He moved to Boise, Idaho to work for Micron. In Boise, he met the love of his life, his wife Maria. As an Eagle Scout, David loved helping his sons with their Scouting journeys. His lifelong passion for Chemistry from SOU led to decades working at Micron and teaching in the Chemistry Lab at Boise State, helping hundreds of students over the years. His enjoyment of athletics could be seen as he cheered on his sons’ countless running, wrestling, basketball, and throwing events throughout the years; his pride clearly showing.

The world is a lot more quiet and much less boisterous without David in it.

David is survived by his wife Maria (Wieber) Morgan, his three sons, Henry, Walter, and Thomas; his parents Ralph and Joy Morgan; his brother Michael Morgan (Jennie), plus the many in-laws, nieces, and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2612 W. State St. in Boise.
