David J. Stear, 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 14, 2024. He was born November 22, 1951 to Charles P. Wheeler & Ruth R. (Stear) Wheeler, Kearney Nebraska. His mother died of cancer in 1966 & Father abandoned the family.
David and his twin brother Daniel were adopted by Wayne Stear who later married Gloria Stear. David had 6 brother; Daniel Stear, Bob Wheeler, Paul Wheeler, Wade Stear, Mark Hetts, Michael Hetts. He has 3 sisters; Linda Wheeler, Beth Brunker, and Tracy (Hetts) Mattox.
David married Reva (Schmitt) Stear September 21, 1975. Together they had two children; Kathy (Stear) Akerstrom and Travis Stear. He had 5 grandchildren; Jordan Pullman, Trenton Ingram, Kylie Stear, Zachary Stear & Dakota Akerstrom.
David was preceded in death by his loving wife Reva Stear, mothers Ruth Wheeler and Gloria Stear, father Wayne Stear, brothers Paul Wheeler and Bob Wheeler.
David was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for his father-in-law’s insulation company until he took over ownership in the late 80’s. He was a hard worker and could fix anything. He enjoyed working in his ship with is best friend Gary, riding horses & playing on anything with a motor. David was always willing to help his family and knew no lengths to what he would do to protect them.
