David "Dave" Allen Hagerty

David Allen Hagerty (78), born January 23, 1948, to Don and Betty (Rundle) Hagerty, passed away surrounded by the legacy of a life well-lived. He was the second oldest of five boys, Phillip, Roger, Steve and Adrew — an upbringing that undoubtedly prepared him for a lifetime of resilience and shenanigans.

David proudly served in the United States Navy, where he built a long and adventurous career, retiring after 20 years as a Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-7). His service reflected his dedication, strength, and steady leadership.

He was a loving husband to Dawn (McPheron) Hagerty for 35 years and was the proud father of Emily Howard, Maisie Neppach, Caitlin Hales, Patrick Hagerty, and Abigail Hagerty, as well as grandfather to 11 grandchildren and one great grandson.

David had a deep love for fishing and found great happiness in sharing that passion with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will last for generations. He is most likely taking his two children (Jeniffer and Joseph) and granddaughter (Lucy Neppach) fishing in the sky as we speak. He was also an active and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need—though, as many knew, it was sometimes wise to keep a watchful eye when power tools were involved.

A natural tinkerer, David loved gadgets and gizmos and could often be found in the garage working on one project or another. He had a sharp wit and a well-timed sense of humor, always ready with a dad joke or a sarcastic quip that brought laughter to those around him.

David will be remembered for his service, his generosity, his humor, and the deep love he had for his family and those he served. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, resilience, and a life lived with curiosity and heart.
