David Allen Collette (53) of Boise Idaho passed away after a brief illness on November 30th, 2022 in Salt Lake City in the company of family he loved.

David was born on September 3 1969 in Mankato Minnesota but grew up in Owatonna. He was part of the OHS class of 1988. Subsequently, he worked at Viracon and then Cardinal Glass in Wisconsin and Washington. In 2002 David decided to attend college and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree (high honors) in Computer Science / Networking from Robert Morris University in Springfield, Illinois. He then joined Carnival Cruise Lines as an IT specialist aboard the Carnival Triumph. Through dedication and hard work, he rose to achieve his third stripe as an officer and Director of Information Technologies for the Carnival Atlantic Fleet.

In 2009 Dave left Carnival moving to Port Elizabeth, South Africa to marry Kylene (Williams) on 6 June 2009. Together they lived and worked in South Africa for the next 6 years having two children; Katie (12) and Austin (9). They returned to the United States in 2014 when David accepted a position as IT director for Employer’s Resource in Boise, ID. When Vensure Employer Services acquired that company in 2019, David rose to become Vice President of IT for the multi-national corporation, a position he thrived in until his passing.

Everyone who knew Dave understood he couldn’t stop moving. He was always busy and enjoyed everything fast and exciting. He enjoyed motorcycles, downhill skiing, his custom jetski, and in recent years, camping and boating. All these things, he always enjoyed in the company of friends and family.

Above all, David loved his kids and being a dad. Despite a busy work schedule, he remained a connected, constant, and integral part of their lives. He was diligent in ensuring their lives were filled with fun and excitement but also grounded in education, faith, and family.

David was preceded in death by his father Roy and his grandparents. He is survived by his children Katie and Austin, his mother Beverly of Boise, ID, his brother Dean (Gwen) of Altamont, IL, and brother Brad (Amy) of Ashland, Mo. as well as his niece and nephews, Benjamin (Allison) of Springfield, IL, Amanda (Nick) of Hillsboro, Mo, Alex of Boise, ID, and Ross of Columbia, Mo.
