Darrell Vernon Kolsky was born in Kuna, Idaho on December 1, 1928 to proud parents Julia Forrey Kolsky and Jerry Kolsky. He was eventually followed by a sister, Wanda, and a brother, Gary.
After serving his country in the Korean War, Darrell returned to Kuna and married Norma Linhart. They had three children, David, Jerry, and Becky.
Darrell was a longtime employee of Union Pacific Railway employee and had a side career in livestock. He was an excellent cattleman.
After Norma’s death, Darrell married Mary Foster and they lived comfortably in Star and Donnelly. After his retirement from railroading, Darrell was fully occupied with improving his properties and traveling and exploring with Mary. He had a knack for keeping things tidy and maintained, and he could repair, rewire, or mechanic just about anything. He was a born engineer.
Darrell is predeceased by all three of his children as well as his stepdaughter Phyllis Foster, and he is survived by his wife Mary, stepchildren Tim and Micki, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and well as many nephews and nieces.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Good night, sweet prince.
