Darline Newton
Darline Newton, 79, of Nampa, Idaho passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 12, 1945 in Nampa, Idaho. Darline was the youngest of nine children born to Samuel and Myrtie Hensley.
Darline graduated from Nampa High School. For many years, Darline worked locally in food service and retail where she was known for her warm smile, pleasant demeanor, and her ability to make every customer feel like family.
Darline married Danny McClung, with whom she had three children, Rob, Kim, and Arnie. While their marriage eventually ended in divorce, Darline remained devoted to her children, providing them with love and support throughout their lives. Darline later married Stan Newton, and they spent 30 years together before his passing in July 2014.
Darline loved to read books, often spending hours lost in the pages of her favorite books. She also loved hosting pinochle parties, in which she would gather her family for a fun (and competitive) game of cards. Music also held a special place in her heart. She loved listening to a wide variety of music, finding comfort and joy in the songs that were often playing softly in the background as she went about her day.
Darline is survived by her three children, Rob (Rose) McClung, Kim (James) Stuart, and Arnie McClung, grandchildren, Amanda, Casey, Justin S., Justin L., Angie, Conner, and Billy, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Francie Vance, Alline Clemens, and Margie Owens, and many nieces and nephews. Darline was preceded in death by her husband, Stan Newton, her parents, Samuel and Myrtie Hensley, her sister, Gladys Martin, and her four brothers, Curtis, Charles, Earl Edward, and Samuel Hensley, Jr.
Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Darline’s life from Noon – 3PM on September 14, 2024 at her sister’s house (Francie Vance) whose address is 7335 Pleasant View Drive, Caldwell, ID 83607.
