Dan Clark Luttrell
Our Friend, Brother, Uncle, Son, Grandpa & Husband. Dan Clark Luttrell was born in Ventura, California, November 4, 1955, living close to the beach is where he developed his love of water. At age four, lost to his parents, found frolicking by himself in the waves as happy and content as can be. He moved to Huntington Beach, California, as a young teenager . He married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Fate in 1976. They made their home and raise d their two kids Brian & Emily in the Chino Hills area.
He was a Huntington Beach Lifeguard, Captain and All league Water Polo player in High School and was a small size Business Owner & Grading Contractor of DL Equipment Co. which they started at the age of 27 and ran for 34 years. He loved operating machinery, selling, and being a mechanic . (Cheryl called him Digger Dan). He was instrumental in grading all types of commercial sites in mostly the Inland Empire, but also Orange & LA counties.
He had a lifelong love of swimming, but over the years also enjoyed scuba diving, water skiing, motorcycle riding, camping, boating, guns, mechanics, and church life.
He took up the piano at about 55 years old and over his remaining years never failed to find a piano and play, be it a hotel, airport, restaurant, anywhere he saw a piano he would be drawn . He became a Christian at age 20 and was involved in church but in his 40’s thru a series of crises became serious & passionate about his faith . If yo u were to sum up Dan in a few words it would be passion and zest for life thru his kids, grandkids , sharing the Gospel , piano , swimming, and always his lifelong love, Cheryl.
He is survived by, in addition to Cheryl, his son, Brian, daughter in law, Christie, his daughter, Emily & son in law Shaun Wooley , 5 grandkids, Josiah, Nathan, Aubrie, Liam & Olivia, a sister Kari & his mother, Sara .
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr. in Garden City. A committal service will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise.
