Cory Scott Daniel of Stanton, Nebraska, passed away on June 21, 2025, at the young age of 56. He died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in the hospital. Cory was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis in March 2025 and moved from Stanton to Meridian, Idaho in May 2025 to be cared for by his father and sister.
Cory was born on November 9, 1968, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Terry and Rose Ann (Vollbrecht) Daniel. He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth, and outgoing nature. Cory was friendly and possessed an uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone.
After Cory graduated from Stanton High School in 1987, he went on to become a farmer. From his earliest days, Cory wanted to be on a tractor. He worked many farms in several counties in Nebraska with beans, corn, and alfalfa including his father’s and grandfather’s land. He was a good farmer who cared about the land he worked, and getting the crop safely in the bin. Cory loved attending and performing in tractor pulls and won many trophies. His legacy is not just in the fields he tended, but in the lives he touched.
In March 1989, Cory married his former wife Staci Deitloff in Stanton, Nebraska. They had an instant family with Cali. Cory and Staci went on to have two more children, Keifer and Amber.
Cory is survived by his father, Terry Daniel, former spouse Staci Deitloff, siblings Nick (Lisa) Daniel, Teri Daniel, children Cali (Jim) Gibbs, and Amber (Nile) Limbach, and all who will forever cherish his memory.
Cory is preceded in death by his mother Rose Ann Daniel, Grandfathers Raymond Daniel, Melvon Vollbrecht, Grandmothers Janice Daniel, Daisy Viola Vollbrecht, step grandmother Elsie Vollbrecht, and son Keifer Scott Daniel.
