Sue spent her early years in Oklahoma before later moving to California, where she graduated from high school and married her first love, Jim. Together they moved frequently with the military, living both stateside and overseas as Bruce, Tony, and later Michelle joined their growing family. Eventually, they settled on a small farm, where life centered around hard work and the steady rhythm of raising a family.
Sue began her banking career shortly after high school at Wells Fargo in San Francisco. After Jim retired from the military and the family settled down, Sue returned to the workforce and continued building a successful career in banking. Over the years, she worked her way up the corporate ladder during a time when opportunities for women were often harder earned, while also building lasting friendships and connections throughout her career.
Sue was someone who rarely turned down an opportunity to go somewhere. She loved shopping excursions, traveling with family and friends, and making memories wherever life carried her.
Sue also had a creative spirit and a gift for sewing. From making clothing for her children when they were young to later creating quilts, sewing remained one of the great joys of her life. She treasured the friendships and shared moments spent with her quilting group through the years. Sue was also an avid reader and was rarely without a book (and chocolate) stashed somewhere.
During their retirement years, Sue and Jim enjoyed traveling between warmer winter weather and the quieter rhythm of small-town life, enjoying many happy years together before Jim’s passing.
Later in life, Sue was blessed to find love again with Jerry, who became a cherished part of her life and family, sharing in holidays, everyday moments, and the love that surrounded her. Together, Sue and Jerry traveled the world and delighted in sharing their adventures with family and friends.
Sue will be remembered for her warmth, independence, adventurous spirit, creativity, and the deep connections she shared with family and friends. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and companionship to many throughout her life.
She is survived by her partner, her children and their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends who will continue carrying her memory forward with love.
May your memories of Sue bring warmth to your heart and remind you of the love, laughter, and connections shared throughout her life.
