Connie Sue Harvey

Connie Sue Cooper Harvey was born on June 3, 1951 in Emmett, Idaho and passed peacefully at a local hospital on September 9, 2025 due to complications from cancer.

Connie was the second child of Barbara and Mike Cooper and little sis to David Cooper. Connie graduated from Emmett High School in 1969 and then briefly attended Boise State. While attending Boise State, what started out as a night out with friends would turn out to be the night she met her soulmate and husband of 54 years, Rick Harvey. After their first date, Connie told Rick, “You can’t go unless you promise to see me tomorrow.” Rick and Connie saw each other every day for the next 11 years. They were married in Emmett on August 7, 1971. 

In December of 1975, Connie gave birth to their oldest daughter, Angela and in December of 1986, they welcomed their second daughter, Rikki into the world. In July of 2002, Connie held her cherished grandson, Greyson, in her arms for the first time and excitedly embraced the role of grandma. Connie was the life of the party and loved to laugh. She was blessed with such a kind and giving spirit and put so much effort into making her friends and family feel so valued and loved from picking out just the right gift to celebrate milestones or making goodie bags for co-workers’ children for every holiday. After a lifetime working in the medical field, she retired from Intermountain Medical Imaging.

Connie was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and faith played such a critical role in her life that, instead of experiencing despair after her cancer diagnosis, she was instead filled with gratitude for the full life she had lived and for those she loved. The level of strength and courage she showed was remarkable and that was a priceless gift she gave us.

The family would like to express their profound gratitude to their incredible support system and to the compassionate care team at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and Rehabilitation Facility.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Barbara Cooper and is survived by her husband, Rick, daughter, Angela Heindel (Mark), daughter, Rikki Harvey, grandson, Greyson Shafer, her brother David (Pat) Cooper, brother-in-law, Mike Harvey and her two nieces and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mark’s Food Bank or the James and Alberta Scholarship Fund in Connie’s honor.
