He graduated from Boise High School (go Braves!) in 1954 and served in the Air Force from January 1956 – December 1959. After being honorably discharged, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1960-1962, serving primarily in Florida and Georgia.
After returning to Boise, he fell in love with Jerilyn Ann Gill and they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1962. He leaves behind 13 beloved grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, with another on the way.
Cloyd was an outdoorsman at heart and loved the Boy Scouts program! He was so dedicated and creative in how he taught young men the principles of outdoor camping and survival. He served as a Cubmaster from 1974-1977, a Scoutmaster from 1977-1980, and was registered with the Boy Scouts of America for a total of 25 years.
He gave years of dedicated service to the church in various capacities, primarily as a ward clerk and temple worker.
Cloyd always had a book in his hand until he couldn’t see to read any longer. Then he turned to audio books for his lifelong reading habit. His favorites were science fiction, Harry Potter, and historical fiction.
He is survived by his wife, Jerilyn; his children; his sister Connie (Richard) Robinson.. and brother Dirk (Davalee} Leavitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Jeanne (James) Kelly and Pat (Lynn) Rasmussen.
