Cinda Lu Canine, 75, of Star, Idaho, passed away on Tuesday, September 10th, surrounded by her loving family.
Cinda was born in Wendell, Idaho, to Elmer and Orpha Meyer. She grew up in Gooding, Idaho, alongside her three siblings, Pam, Laine, and Debbie. In junior high she met the love of her life, John Canine, and after high school they married and embarked on college life together. This year marked a milestone as they celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Together with John, Cinda raised three daughters: Jacqueline (husband Michael, children Matthew and Savana), Jeannette (husband Jason, children Jesse and Jake), and Johanna (husband Cody, children Jacqulene (husband Shaunisey), Rhees (wife Emily and son Leo), and Maris). She was affectionately known as Nana to her seven grandchildren and great-grandchild, Leo. She lovingly embraced her role as Nana, frequently staying up all night sewing and baking countless goodies for the grandchildren to enjoy.
After graduating with a degree in Business Education, Cinda built a successful career managing medical practices, including Mountain States Urology and St. Luke’s Rheumatology clinics. She cherished the relationships she developed with the patients and physicians she worked with throughout her career.
A gifted seamstress, Cinda’s talent for sewing was unmatched. She lovingly created wardrobes for her daughters as they grew, even sewing their wedding dresses. Her creativity was boundless, often making beautiful things without even needing a pattern. In recent years, she crafted duvets, pillow shams, and other treasures for family and friends.
Cinda had a natural talent for hosting and entertaining at the beautiful home she meticulously decorated herself. She was known for her patio parties, where her well-manicured flowers were on display. Her culinary skills were as impressive as her hospitality, and she often expressed that if she had pursued another career, it might have been as a chef. Those lucky enough to attend one of her gatherings knew she was an incredible cook and baker.
Cinda spent her retirement years traveling to visit her siblings, volunteering in her daughter’s classroom, tending her garden, and teaching friends how to cook. She was never without a crafting or sewing project, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful creations.
Cinda’s generosity knew no limits—she welcomed everyone with open arms, especially during the holidays, often inviting those without family to join hers. Her kindness and loving spirit touched the lives of many.
Cinda’s love, kindness, and radiant generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family will be holding a small private service.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a local charity. Two charities close to Cinda’s heart were the Boys and Girls Club and the Women’s and Children’s Alliance.
