Cheryl Wuttke Schindele, 72, of Boise, passed away September 4, 2024. Cheryl was born February 25, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to father, Paul E. Wuttke and mother, Phyllis G. Davies. Cheryl was a shining light to all those who came in contact with her.
Raised in Virginia, she played flute in band and cheered at Oakton High School. While attending Virginia Tech, she became a life-long Delta Gamma sister.
After excelling in a sales career, she became a Christian, bore three sons and devoted her life to her family and to homeschooling. She not only taught her sons, but also took a prominent role in each of the homeschool communities she found herself in. Everyone knew to come talk to Cheryl about anything. She became the standard bearer for whatever she put her mind to.
She continued spreading joy and light as she moved to Wisconsin, Michigan, New Mexico, back to Virginia, and finally to Idaho. Her first priority was finding the right church and becoming actively involved. She began each day by reading her Bible and praying, leading to a close connection with Jesus. This allowed her to engage in various activities such as sewing, playing piano, gardening, water aerobics, singing in choirs, counseling, going out with friends to tea, lunch, movies, museums, concerts, and playing with her grandchildren.
She was one of the most kind, pure-hearted, and loving people you could ever meet. She always greeted you with a warm hug and a huge smile. No one was a stranger, but rather a friend she was just getting to know. She had a resilient faith even during trials of all sorts. Her enthusiasm for life, unconditional support, and words of encouragement will never be forgotten.
Cheryl was survived by her sister, Debbie Rau (Cross Junction, VA); sons, David Schindele (Boise, ID) John (Crystal) Schindele (Boise, ID) and Matthew (Naomi) Schindele (Boise, ID); grandchildren, Ian, Naomi, Abigail, Lilly, Isaac Schindele, and grandson, William Harvey Schindele; Uncle Rudy Wuttke (Fort Wayne, IN); along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Paul E. Wuttke, mother, Phyllis G. Wuttke (Davies); and her brother in law, Richard Rau.
Cheryl, you were a fun, lively, faithful, treasured, wonderful woman who will not be soon forgotten. You always radiated so much joy due to your unshakable faith in our Savior. You still bring smiles to our faces. We love you.
